• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

Quite a while back I came across a Sako .22-32 target pistol with .22 LR and .32 S&W barrels. I don't really shoot pistols much any more, so it sat in an old, dilapidated case for a long time. But I finally decided to take it out and give it a try (with the .22 barrel as I had no .32 on hand). It shot fine, functioned nicely and seems to exhibit all of the qualities that Sakos usually do.

I decided it needed a new carrying case, so bought a nice one and cut the foam to fit. I was about to throw the old case out when I thought that maybe I should remove the foam to make sure nothing was left under it. To my GREAT surprise I found the original .22-32 brochure (a tri-fold about 25 inches long) with apparently the original owner's name on it in one corner. The name and address appear to be Finnish. Also there was a score sheet from a 1985 match with each of a dozen or so shooters scores recorded in longhand. All names appear to be Finnish. WOW, what a find!

I've posted photos of the pistol, the brochure, and the score sheet. Maybe some of our Finnish members might recognize some of these names, even though the match was held 39 years ago.

Not really being a handgun guy, and having way more guns of every type than I need, I'm planning on putting this one up for sale on Gunbroker. However, I'll wait a week or so in case anyone here is interested in owning this piece of Sako shooting history, along with all of the items that came with it. It has two .32 magazine, one .22 magazine, a set of vinyl grips, a set of wood grips, and an additional front sight. I see all kinds of prices asked on these, but am willing to just get my money back if an SCC member wants it. $1,500 plus actual shipping from my FFL to yours.
