Hey All!
Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board.
They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things.
The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to.
DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES!
They often state something like this:
”Hello!
Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]”
If you receive any strange messages:
Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not.
Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out!
Beware of anything that might seem fishy!
And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username.
You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our!
All the best! And be safe!
Jim
1. No .375 cal. so likely pre 1961 - I assume they would be making projectiles by the time the L61 .375 H&H was being chambered
2. Has a .243 cal. so likely post 1955
L46.
sorry to say but there is no history for either board, both came from the same private seller quite some years ago. note that there are projectiles for the 7x33 & semi pt 70gr 25 cal which is what sako loaded in their 25-20 wcf ammo.
some of the projectiles i have never seen in sako factory loaded ammo, ie 44mag ?
Some additional clues by dating the cartridges mentioned on the board:
7mm mag, I presume is the 7mm Rem Mag which was introduced in 1962 which would suggest post 62.
Also some of the 5.7mm projectiles are listed as 222 and some as 223. The 223 Rem was commercialised about 1964 so this would suggest post 64.
The Hammerhead name would be another good date to pin down.
The labels are actually the labels from the bullet boxes (you can see the box count vertically on the right hand side of each label). These labels match the ones from the yellow/orange circle pattern boxes in my collection. I know this style of box was used up into the eighties but I am not sure when that style was introduced.
Saw another one of these for sale a while back but missed it. Whats interesting is that the projectiles go the other way to Susanna's one and its a bit different in projectiles. No doubt they were all put together by hand. They certainly look cool
