• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

Sako 75 Finnlight in .280 Remington

Sako Collectors Club Discussion Forum

I've got a very clean, good condition Sako 75 Finnlight Stainless .280 Rem produced in 2003. I'm considering selling it however. It's a beauty but not really the configuration I want for the .280. I figure I might as well have a 7mm-08 since this gun has such a short 20.5 inch barrel. Were these a limited production run in .280? Might that fact add to its value? Any idea what this rifle is worth? Thanks!

Asking for an free appraisal of your rifle over the internet based on a short paragraph is worth exactly what you are paying for it. Value is based on a host of factors, but it boils down to a what a willing seller & a willing buyer agree to. You would gain more insight finding comparable rifles for sale on the gun sale/auction sites & educating yourself about what you are trying to sell. The 75 doesn't have the "collector" following the earlier Sako's do, but they are fine "shooters". Your question is the same as me asking you what my 2003 pickup is worth knowing only that it is "very clean" & has a "long wheelbase". I think you will find most here reluctant to place a value on something sight unseen.
