Hey All!
Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board.
They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things.
The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to.
DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES!
They often state something like this:
”Hello!
Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]”
If you receive any strange messages:
Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not.
Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out!
Beware of anything that might seem fishy!
And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username.
You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our!
All the best! And be safe!
Jim
Very nice. I've always wanted a .264 Win. Mag. I always stop short of buying one b/c of so many stories about it being a barrel burner. It is a fast, flat, accurate caliber.
Very nice. Looks similar. The deluxe is in .300 Weatherby. The salesman told me it was a limited run. I think it was just a salesman being a salesman. I've never found any proof on this. A few times a year one shows up for sale on "Guns International" or "Gunbroker.com"
Well Winsak,
I get the name. My first rifle was a 1955 M70 FWT. with a Paul Jaeger quick release side mount. I have always appreciated the ergonomics of this rifle. Pictured top. My second was a M94 .30-30.
I went to work in Northern Ontario for a couple years. I didn't want the Winchester...
It's not much of a claim. Ohio citizens fill up our County Jails. Get ticketed. Get themselves in trouble and ask for local help. There are a few from Illinois and Indiana. Last weekend, three guys from Ohio got their Platinum F-150 stuck on a snowmobile trail. They were 10 miles off a main...
That would be Upper Michigan. We don't care about the rivalry between you Southerners and the Trolls from down below. We are just tired of you coming up and destroying our State and Federal Lands, running into locals and generally breaking multiple laws like a bunch of terrorists. You want to...
I'm sure the .308 dies will be easy enough to find. My neighbor shoots a 21. He is also a retired Marine and starting up a small gun shop. If you want to send me your part needs, I'll be glad to ask him if he has them.
Welcome, I'm very interested to hear your opinion on the TRG. I keep threatening the wife I'm ordering a M10 or TRG 22. 338LM. The .308 VL-63's are shot by her and the kids.
I see you're from Ohio, so I'm typing slowly, just for you.
On behalf of our Medicare, Redicare, and Emergency rooms...
I'm certainly not an expert here; however, I have two 1969 .300 Win Mags. Both have Bofors stamps. Both serial number are 38xxx. Much higher. I have been questioned a few times about authenticity because Sako was supposed to stop using the Bofos Stamp in 68' and 69' was the first year the .300...
Looks like you did well. Enjoy your new toy. Two and a half days until whitetail firearm season. The Holiday starts tomorrow. Up here anyway. No school or work for most places.
Welcome, and a very nice deluxe. It looks very similar to my 300 Wthby. purchased new in 1989. Serial numbers jumped around a lot but yours is close to mine. The Stoeger imports seemed to have very nice wood grain and finish.
The serial number would be too high for the records here. There...
That is how it should be. The few hundred dollars it may devalue a firearm won't make a difference to your estate when your gone. Enjoy your firearms and time with your children. That has always been a better investment as opposed to having a safe queen.
I'm a hunter not a collector. This may...
OK, I deserve that. LOL
The top two rifles are 1969 .300 Win Mags. The next rifle is the 1969 .270 and the bottom one is a 1972 7mm. To my untrained eye, The .300’s and the 7mm have the same checkering pattern. It looks like a double outside border?
