Hey All!
Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board.
They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things.
The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to.
DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES!
They often state something like this:
”Hello!
Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]”
If you receive any strange messages:
Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not.
Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out!
Beware of anything that might seem fishy!
And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username.
You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our!
All the best! And be safe!
Jim
Found a 222 Sako that the bolt opens real hard at the start of the lift. You can see what vintage from the pictures of the bolt head.
It seems the camming diagonal has a hitch and is damaged at noticable rough areas. The nose of the cocking piece looks OK to me. Is there a fix? Is...
I have a L46 222 heavy barrel. It has the square block bolt head.
When not cocked, the bolt handle raises hard at the start. The the diagonal cam under the bolt handle looks galled. Definitely not good looking.
I am not familiar with this bolt like I am with Rem 721 and Win 70. How is...
I have a 223 Coltsman with Sako action. It has been in the family as Dad's, now mine for many years. Probably bought from Eugene Surplus Sales (Eugene OR) in the 60s. One of my favorite rifles.
I just today received two after market 6 round magazines from GB. The 64$ ones.
One fits perfectly. The other needed .002 removed from the rear strap just below the hold-in notch. Now it fits perfect.
I have many years experience in benchrest shooting and reloading. I will get some of your 222 brass and try it out in my L46 and 722 222. I already use Starline 45 ACP brass in my Precision Pistol matches. Starline was definitely best for 230 FMJ Sierra loads in CMP matches.
Just picked up a 222 L46 heavy barrel. I think it is later in the run. SN is in the 54k range.
Excellent shape. Still has some new shine. But the swivels are gone and someone drilled the barrel and rear ring for Targetspot mounts. Nicely done though. I already put screw plugs in the...
An interesting find on the internet from GunBroker forum dated 2003.
Hardball (aka Rem725, but I lost this old info long ago. Of course I found it right after I signed as Hardball)

I will ask John Stimson about the HS barrel possibility. This .223 barrel is very good and has an interesting adjustable front sight. The stock is very plain. A light color and not even finished real well. The "Vixen" type action and the rest of the metal is superb. I have only seen one...
About what years were the Colts made using Sako actions. Were the rifle barrels also Sako, or Colt made?
I have a .223 Coltsman rifle, and a .243 Forrester with Bofors marked barrel. Have had several Sakos through the years.
