• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

    Long stocked mannlicher??

That is true... I've had many rifles, ( wood stocked) that would shoot 1/2 inch groups.... dead nuts on at 100 yds,... a year later still a half incher, but off to the right or left up or down somewhere... the answer is radical free-floating that I don't like to do. Right now my #1 hunting...

    Long stocked mannlicher??

Hi... I just put 2 pics of the stock, you will note that there is no 'verticle line' its the configuration of the walnut... I never took pics of the bbl. channel when I had it apart, but surely would have noticed a 'line' there. The pics show a dent on each side that I steamed out.. both...

Ice bear... It is a Factory Sako.. I had the rifle in my hands, both stocked, and taken apart... there is no 'joint' in the wood. If you do your research, they did in fact make a few with the 23" bbl. and in mannlicher configuration.. they also made some with 2 piece stocks they had a barrel...

    Canjar trigger help appreciated

I had a similar problem with a brand new Timney... it would fail to cock about 25% of cycles...( at 3 lb. setting) .. At 4 lb. setting, it worked fine... I'm starting to wonder if maybe the original sako trigger just needed tweeking. ...older L579 in 308...

    strange action screws..

..Update... I went to a 'Rural King'.. they had a chart, found the original action screws are 6mm x 1.0, bought 2 ( $ .99 each) and they fit great, no wobble when tightening.. just have to machine the heads some. I looked close at the originals, they are bent.. I set the timney up to 4.5# and...

    strange action screws..

Thanks for the reply, I have not fired it yet, it had the original trigger, and I had a few issues with that.... it would either 'slam fire' or not cock on closing 2 cycles out of 10 or so... so I ordered a new aftermarket trigger, put it on, and it seems to have cured the cocking issue... I...

    strange action screws..

I have a older sako, L579, and have been playing with it, found that the 2 actions screws are wierd... on tightening, or loosening, they seem to be bent, but I cant see that.. when doing either tightening or loosening, there is a " tight... loose... tight... loose.." that would indicate a bent...

    Are Burris ringmounts good?

I have a set for my 308, and they seem 'chincy' to me, .. better is the Weaver system, ( mine takes #65 and #67 bases)and any weaver style ring set. But, in my opinion better yet is the Leupold set, its what I'll use until I find a set of the original Sako rings that are affordable.. Bob...
