I mostly use Ballistol to clean shotguns but over the years it has proven to be a good all-round cleaner/lubricant on all kinds of firearms. The Ballistol wipes are simply cloths impregnated with Ballistol so it's more of a convenience product. Personally, I give patches and microfiber cloths some canned Ballistol. I've switched most of my day-to-day gun cleaning over to Frog Lube products although I use Patch-Out products to deep clean my centerfire prior to finishing up with Frog Lube.

I've actually come to like the smell of Ballistol and it sure works well for cleaning AND lubrication.

I wouldn't say that I like the smell of Ballistol but it sure is a useful chemical concoction.
