I contacted the gunshop and they had the original Iron sights, they had removed them before they sent the me the rifle because they ment it was a big "Rust trap" so it was better without the sights, what do you guys think about that?

I would say the gun shop bagged your sights as they are valuable and hard to come by.
Not their problem as far as rust goes.
I would ask for them back...
    I know I would...

I would definitely try to get the original sights from the gun shop. They really should have left them in place.

Thinking about the shop saying the sights were a rust trap...
They used yours to replace one of theirs which was a rust trap...
You still got a good deal on that beauty though.

I just purchased the exact same rifle at a gun show here in Montana and paid $1000 for it used but in very good condition. It has the same butt pad and does have the Sako name on it so I assume it is original. You got a deal it that is in US dollars. There were several other Sakos for sale at that same gun show but were priced around $1700. I too am new to the Sako brand so was unsure of what a fair price was. Also a 308. It has open sights.

    Gorgeous timber with that AII!
Definitely a “Sunny Day” gun in that condition.
    Congratulations on a great find!
