I sold a L579 to a guy in Alabama. He picked it up today and the bolt won't close. It goes about within 3/4 inch and won't go further. Has it become decocked? He said the firing pin is protruding??

If the firing pin is protruding it is most certainly uncocked ..it can happen, especially if the bolt is removed for shipping. They can be tough to cock by hand . Wear gloves or even better use a short lanyard of parachord or shoestring looped around the firing pins rear lock surface. (There is a name for this surface that actually escapes me right now) o_O
Use tension to assist in turning the cocking piece back to its cocked position.

    Good luck!
