• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

Looking at a Sako, no bolt shroud on end of bolt, instead there is a screw head, this is said to be an L61R. Is this a desirable thing? Older rifle.Need discreet advice ASAP, thanks!

Big Bear- Yeas that would be the open shrouded series of Sakos from prior to the early 80s and the A Series. L61R would be the long action. PS. If you buy it, don't turn the screw without finding out about what it is for and the smaller little screw on the bottom of the cocking indicator. The back of the bolt should look like the one on our front page at the top.-Misako

BB- That one could have been made in 1961 or later so a picture of it would be great when you get it. And don't give us that "need it" stuff. I found it lots easier to quit smoking than to quit Sakos.:stickpoke:-Misako

Got it!

Got it, 30'06, looks new. I'll take some photos and email them to someone to post or dig up the instructions left me for Photobucket. Came with a set of Sako rings to boot, 30% less than my similar condition 308 mannlicher (much later production), so I am happy happy.

BB: You don't have to use Photobucket, etc. Go to "Go Advanced". Click on "manage attachments". Use "browse computer" to find your photo on your computer, then simply upload it to the SCC server. Unless you cancel it, the photo(s) you upload will appear in your post. They will be saved (for a year or so) and you can access them for future posts if desired.

I tried, not sure if I did it right though. If picture too big or wrong please have Moderator delete, I won't mind!
