1. Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

Couple of Finnwolfs Deluxes, first is a 243 and the second is a 308. Was extremely fortunate and very happy to acquire these.
Suppose to be 10 made, I suppose five in each caliber.

Those are not real…You can tell by the forester tree on the grip caps! Someone, probably at the Sako Factory, used factory DeLux Forester stock blanks , milled them to perfectly fit the Finnwolf action, then even went so far as to engraving the magazine bottom to .. um .. make it more .. more like a Finnwolf DeLux! Absolutely gorgeous authentic fake Finnwolfs .
    Cool as hell!
    Congratulations Rocky!!

According to the December 1988 issue of the Finnmark newsletter, there were seven 308's and three 243's.

The number on Rocky's rifle matches one of the numbers on the Finnmark list. The engraving appears to be a signature of some kind, rather than the usual abstract picture. Maybe a one-off for a retiring executive? Or somebody in the distribution chain on this side of the Atlantic? If only ten Deluxes were ever made, it would make sense to make the stocks on Forester blanks rather than create a wolf inlay for ten guns.

Both of the numbers are on that list. They are also a few years apart in production. I think #3856 has no bofors stamp.

I've seen that same signature, on this forum, on a different firearm. Interesting

Fantastic! And built seven years apart, the earlier one with a "coffin bottom" four-shot magazine and the later one with a three-shot flat bottom magazine. Check out this thread for more on what appears to be a factory-engraved signature on a magazine bottom: https://sakocollectors.com/forum/threads/sako-l61r-super-deluxe-factory-presentation-model.9376/

I wonder if all three of these (the two Finnwolfs and the L61R in the posted link) came to the U.S. at the same time and in the same manner? Two of them are later than the effective date of the 1968 GCA which required all imported firearms to be stamped with the importer's name and city, but they appear to have no import mark.

I can't keep from scrolling thru these every day or so. This just makes my mind wonder back to the time I bought the "Bible" with the first picture of a Finnwolf Deluxe. That was over 50 yrs ago.
