• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

No Import Markings - L461 Vixen 222rem

Sako Collectors Club Discussion Forum

Hello all, new to me Vixen .222rem i got from an australian guy in the DFW area. He said is was his family's rifle when they moved to the US. Has a weird wear pattern under the end of the scope that appears to be coated with something to prevent rust. Came with an old kahles scope too. Got it for a great price, now looking for some info on it! No import markings either.

Hello and Welcome.
Congratulations on a pretty nice little rifle!
At first glance it appears you have a late model L461.
Yours looks to be legit as far as the Aussie origins go, the rectangular patch on the barrel is where the rear tangent sight was soldered on. Removed to allow space for the scope. This was a common practice, to keep the scope as low to bore axis as possible. The absence of a importer etching shows the rifle came over to the US with an individual, very possibly family.

Above pic shows a rifle similar to yours with rear tangent sights.
You have a very nice rifle/scope combo, congrats and enjoy!
We love range reports!
Let us know how she shoots!

Kahles is brand of Swarovski and these are excellent scopes
Rings are unknow for me. I would consired changing them to Classic Sako rings, but you need 26mm as the the scope have 26mm tube
