• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

Yes and no. It should make contact as that sloped surface is what gives you the leverage to extract the case, but it should not wear out at any noticeable rate. Are your cases sticking in the chamber? Heavy bolt lift?

Your pics show the primary extraction cam surfaces of the receiver/bolt interface. These two surfaces should normally be lightly greased.

There seems to be slight damage at the top of the interface. This usually happens when closing the bolt becomes a "slamming" affair.

Brutal operation of a bolt serves no useful purpose......and can/will damage the action. There are many Rem 700's with a nice little "divot" on the bolt extraction ramp.

This explanation may fall on a few deaf ears.......but heck......there are still those out there who "spin" revolver cylinders........and always on "collectibles". :)

Hope this helps.

I could not tell if bolt lifting hard.. I am a beginner shooter..
I did greased as you guys suggested.. I haven't fired yet ..
Thank you ..for help guys..

True story…years ago I was at a big show , an old trader buddy and I. We were just walking in and finding our selves around, as we walked the isles of gun strewn tables and racks. We split up and I went to a table set with many nice Colt and S&W revolvers . There were a few others there, one man in particular was wearing white gloves, picking up and admiring a selection of Pythons. The owner was kinda busy keeping eyes on everything, but really the only one that was handling anything was the dude with the gloves. The guy swung the cylinder out and was handling the gun by the top strap..which seemed to indicate he knew what he was doing..but then with a flick of the wrist, he flipped it closed, pulled the hammer back, dry fired it, then gave the cylinder a wiz and set it back on the table….crowded building hundreds of people there..you could hear a pin drop..almost like a vacuum. The owner of said revolver gave the gloved man a look that would drop a rhino. He was a gentleman about it, but made it perfectly clear to the man that he was no longer welcome at his table , “white gloves do not mean sh!t if a fool is wearing them”

bloo
