• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

I just brought home an A III made in Finland and chambered in ,270 Winchester. Saw it last week when I went to Cabelas to look at another rifle but this Sako spoke to me. After a little haggling and 10% off for this silly “cyber Monday”, I couldn’t resist. It appears to have been used very little although I wish it still had the rear sight. That aperture sight that fits on one of the scope mounts looks very nice and functional but I can‘t just leave those 2 screws standing proud of the barrel.

Nice looking rifle ! Now it only needs a front sight hood and the rear sight which I believe was made by Williams sight company. Others may be able to provide the part number for the correct rear sight. Good luck with your new to you rifle.

Also, it looks like it has a set of Warne ringmounts. They are no longer produced but are very high quality imho. Agree with gunner regarding the Willians rear sight. They are typically very helpful. Nice carbine!!

Thanks! I had talked with Warne thinking someone had put Tikka rings on this rifle, and the Warne tech confirmed that they used to make them. I know that they make great scope rings but there are several alternatives that look better to my eye for an older rifle like this.
