• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

Not Sure What Model This Is

Sako Collectors Club Discussion Forum

This is a bolt action Sako #26639 in .222 with a removable magazine. I traded the scope that was on it for a Colt 45. I was wondering it's worth and would like to trade for a nice 30-06 M1 Garand.

The rifle in the photo is fully custom. Neither the barrel nor the stock are original to the Sako L46 action it is built on. Such rifles vary widely in market value so you can't say what yours might be worth from just photos and brief description. It is nearly impossible to get as much out of a custom rifle as went into it.

Looks like an L46 Riihimaki with a custom stock - if you look on the left side of the receiver you should see the model Look at the barrel and see what is stamped on it to tell if it is SAKO or a custom barrel.
Good luck

After the serial number, there is a cartouche of what appears to be a Lion's head, and a fancy looking 'N' on the receiver and also on the barrel. Any idea what these mean ?

Ravinsomniac, The Lions Head I understand to be the Finnish proof mark and the N denotes the person who inspected at the Sako factory.
